About

Rocky Mountains

Hey, that’s me in the Colorado Rockies in May of 2011.

If you have just found this site, this page is what I would like for you to know about me. I’m a guy with diverse interests. Sort of a jack-of-all-trades type person.

As far as this blog goes, I write about just about anything. This site is not about a specific topic and related topics. I know, the gurus say that your website should be about a theme. I have other sites that are specific, just not this one.

I believe in being a well rounded human being. I think that is the trait most of us strive for. I can hang a ceiling fan, produce a professional corporate video and a ton of things in between.

We all have multiple talents. There is nothing wrong with developing all that is inside you to realize your full human potential.

I’m not a puffy cloud, pie in the sky type person. I deal in reality. You can think it and dream it all you want, but I am more interested in a measurable success.

When we fail, it’s almost always measurable in some way. I believe we should measure our successes as well.

If you have spent your whole life taking photos with a point and shoot camera and then take the time to learn how to operate a DSLR, you have expanded your potential and your success can easily be measured.

I hope to encourage you to do such things as that.

So welcome everyone. If you are still reading, this is where I tell you tidbits of my life.

I just turned 52 years old. I live a pretty cool life and I haven’t found anyone yet where I would trade my life for theirs.

An average, ordinary man could not handle my life then and now. Oprah would call me a liar and Jerry Springer would say my life story is too bizarre to go on his show.

I spent 4 years in the US Navy right after high school. It was a great adventure. I was actually involved in the Iran Hostage crisis in 1979. Scary times on a ship when you are far from home.

Following my tour of duty, I worked 24 years for Verizon. Long story short, Verizon stole the pensions of management in 2005 and I took early retirement in 2006. A very bad company to work for.

I’m not completely sure how to refer to myself now. What the hell am I? I don’t have a description.

My interests are very diverse. Do I have a passion? I’ve asked myself that many times. I am interested in so many things that it’s impossible for me to nail down any one or two things.

I have thought long and hard about what I wanted this blog to be about. I’ve changed it’s direction on more than one occasion. What I came to realize is that everything that I have written was part of my journey to realize my full potential.

It’s human nature to constantly seek our own potential. It’s also human nature to share with others what we learn about ourselves.

I tend to believe that if I concentrate only on a particular passion, I will never reach my full human potential. I don’t have to be an expert at any one thing, I just want to be good at a lot of things.

Who knows, as I explore all of my potentials I may find that one driving passion to concentrate on.

To me, the most interesting people I have ever met were those who had diverse interests and talents. There’s only so much I want to hear about wood-working.

You hear a lot about passive income and I guess that’s one of my things. I do experiment somewhat with building niche web sites. Still experimenting with that to see if there is any potential.

I think John Wayne was one of the greatest American Patriots to ever live. He is a man that lived his full potential and I admire him and those like him.

I stop all channel surfing at cowboy movies. I like to watch cowboy movies and drink sweet iced tea. $hit man, I’m from the south, what do you expect?

I get a lump in my throat if there is no one around and I listen to the theme of Rocky.

If you watch Dancing With The Stars & American Idol, you have no right to make fun of people who watch wrestling. You are not fulfilling any potential while wasting time watching stuff like that. You should be reading my blog instead.

I enjoy driving vehicles with large engines who run on decayed dinosaur remains. If you hit me in your Prius, you are going to die, not me and my family.

There are things I don’t like to scrimp on. A good heavy, safe vehicle. Good absorbant toilet paper. Name brand snacks & cereal. Technology.

In the other aspects of my life, I’m searching for ways to reduce. Less stuff. Simplicity. Decluttering. Less stress. Fewer e-mail addresses.

I don’t recycle. It’s a waste of time. If you recycle, that’s great for you. All my stuff goes to the landfill in black plastic bags. It’s my responsibility to get it there. If they want to recycle my stuff, they can have at it.

I’m fiercely loyal to my friends.

I like to shoot guns.

I would never wear a jersey with another man’s name on my back. Are you kidding me?

I used to be a +2 golfer. That’s 2 strokes better than scratch.

I like beer & I love Italian Food.

If all illegal immigrants looked like the women on Spanish TV, I would strongly encourage even more illegal immigration.

I relate easily to small children and animals.

My man crush? Don Johnson from Miami Vice. Jeez I wish I looked like him and had his hair.

I’ve never figured out why everyone hates Michael Bolton. That dude can sing.

I really enjoy making video’s every once in a while and believe that video is certainly the future of the internet. I really should be making more videos.

I have opinions that may differ from yours.

Google + may actually bring enjoyment into social media. I like the fact that I can create circles and say things that I don’t want everyone to read.

You should assume that any links you click on my site are affiliate links.

There you go. If you haven’t already clicked away, I hope you will become a regular reader and make comments.

Here on Bloggerlens, I will be exploring my own human potential in all aspects of my life and I hope that I can help you discover or exploit potential you never realized you had.

It sucks that you and I are not best friends, we are most likely both losing out.

Thanks for dropping by. Welcome to Bloggerlens. Please participate, I love it when that happens.
