Recently I had the honor of being interviewed by Esther Brown from outside.in and featured in their “Bloggers We Love” section. Esther works as the community manager for outside.in. The interview focused on my work as a hyperlocal blogger.

Before we got started, I asked Esther if she would mind if I recorded our call to be used as a future podcast and she agreed. The interview lasted about 40 minutes and Esther was very thorough in her questions which indicated to me that she is quite knowledgeable about hyperlocal blogging.

If you are not familiar with outside.in, here is a description of what they do, straight from their website “About Page“.

In the podcast, I share some of the highlights of our conversation and my viewpoints about hyperlocal blogging. Part of our conversation topics are about how I got started, how I use video and my favorite social media platform I use to drive traffic to my site.

How many times have you watched a youtube video and wished you could install it into your ipod? For me, a lot of times. It’s actually quite easy to put a youtube video into your iPod. I’m going to give you the steps below if you are working on a Mac. If you have a Windows PC, I’m sorry, I can’t help you. I’m sure there is a way though.

I actually have QuickTime Pro installed on my MacBook. It’s a $30 program that you download directly from Apple. It allows you to edit, save and trim clips in QuickTime. If you have a newer version of QuickTime installed on your computer, be sure to click the “Share” tab at the Quicktime Tabs and it may offer a simple iTunes one-click conversion. As with everything techno, this is more than just one way to get a youtube video into your iPod.

Step 1: How to download youtube videos. Go to Dirpy.com.

The next time you sync your iPod with iTunes, if you have movies checked, your youtube movie will download to your iPod. Best of all it’s free. The entire process as I have described it takes only a few minutes.

Yes, I have produced an audio podcast here on Bloggerlens. No interviews, no guests, just me and my southern drawl that will most likely get on your nerves.

Why you ask? I think it’s important for one to step out of their comfort zone. I’m not comfortable doing a lot of things. If you suck at something, you will always suck unless you practice.

I thought I would do a Week in Review audio podcast. Basically, it’s my personal week in review. Things I have done or have run across that was interesting to me.

If you take the time to listen, I would appreciate your feedback, good or bad. It’s even ok to call me a name. I was called an idiot on this blog this week and it actually felt good.

Lately, I have been neglecting the personal priorities I have set and followed for myself my entire life. I have been guilty of this neglect for the past 3 or 4 months. I have always lived a fit and active lifestyle. I still do but I have been a slacker lately. This video blog post is nothing more than me slapping my own wrist for neglecting what I know is important. A lot of times there is no one out there but yourself to keep you motivated. Have you neglected some personal priorities lately? Do you need a little extra motivation? You have to do it yourself. How bad do you want it?

I have to tell you that this video interview is one of the most awesome video interviews ever made. I’m an official Trust Agent now and you can certainly trust me. As a matter of fact, I would like for you to Re-Tweet this article even before you watch the video. I would like at least 300 Re-Tweets on this article before anyone even watches the video.

This video was made as a result of the Green-Eyed Monster, Jealousy. I became very jealous of Allyn Hane at Bloggerillustrated.net because he has recently landed video interviews of some high-powered A-list bloggers while on vacation in Mexico. I have not had that type of success and I became jealous. He’s even claiming to be a Trust Agent now before I could claim to be a Trust Agent. I am not proud of myself. In fact, I’m a little ashamed I let my emotions get away with me. Through hard work and determination I was able to land my own A-list celebrity blogger, Chris Brogan. I hope you enjoy the video.
