I happened to come across this very cool video app that I was very impressed by. It’s called Collabracam. If you make videos, this app would give you a totally new way to make video with your iPhone smartphones.
How would you like to direct and download live video across 4 mobile devices?
Here’s how it works. 4 iPhones are connected together over a local wi-fi network through the Collabracam App. One phone is designated the director. The director controls the video being shot from all of the iPhones. Each phone operator can see a message if their video is being recorded or on standby. The operators of all of the iPhones can receive director instructions for things like camera angles and pan shots.
Once all of the video is shot, the video file is saved on the directors iPhone. At this point you can download and edit the video. Just imagine all of the different camera angles and shots you can achieve. A video shoot with 4 cameras and one director. The director can view the rough cut of the video on the iPhone.
I have not used this App but it looks promising. This is not a review, just thought someone may be interested in giving it a try. If this iPhone video app truly works the way it says, it will be awesome.
I think one of the flaws with the Collabracam App thus far is that the audio follows the camera that is recording. If you are narrating a video, that would not be good and hopefully the developers will find a fix.
Here is a video from Collabracam that was made using the app.
Here is a video review from users talking and demonstrating the Collabracam App.
The cost of the Collabracam App is $9.99 and is available on the iTunes App Store.
This may be the best mobile video app that I have seen so far.
