Steve,

Thanks for sharing. I am just getting into this so this is very helpful. I home school my son and we are going to work our way into him learning to be a photo pro. Our oldest daughter already is quite good at it.

The G10 came with its own remote, so we're good in that department. It's their best prosumer type video camera; I'm not techie enough to go with a pro camera, like the one you use, Steve. Maybe someday. And yes, there's an input for a wireless mic. I use the Audio Technica one you recommended a while back.

Yes, it is a vacuum cleaner. Very observant. I had vacuumed a few days earlier and too lazy to put it back in the closet. The G10 looks sweet. I just Googled it. I'm not sure the remote I bought will work with your Canon video camera. I think it will work with all of the DSLR's though. Does your G10 have an input for a wireless mic? Can't wait to see your new vids.

Hi Steve -
Thanks for the update on your photography project. You're doing a great job keeping up, even if you have fallen a little behind. It looks to me like your must have been vacuuming in that second photo - that is a vacuum to your immediate right, isn't it? - rather than pushups, as therealjosh suggested. I see from the last shot that you're about as far into the Jobs biography as I am, which is to say not very far. That's a big book.

Thanks for the tip on the Canon remote. Is that meant to work with most/all of Canon's cameras, or just select ones? I can appreciate some of what you're going through, learning a new camera: I got the Canon HF G10 camcorder a couple of weeks ago, to do the videos for my new site, and I'm fumbling my way along figuring out how to use it.

Take care,
Ken

Yes Medic, this camera does have an internal mic which does a pretty decent job. It also has an external mic plug so you can use a wireless or wired mic for better audio. The 60D is a very complete photo/video package. I'm lovin this camera.

Steve,

Does this have an external mic? If not, what do you do to get good sound?

Thanks.
