It's their best prosumer type video camera; I'm not techie enough to go with a pro camera, like the one you use, Steve. Maybe someday. And yes, there's an input for a wireless mic. It also has an external mic plug so you can use a wireless or wired mic for better audio. The 60D is a very complete photo/video package. I'm lovin this camera.
