My 365 Photography Project continues.
I have no idea how I will be able to take 365 photos with me in them and somehow remain creative but I will try.
The goal of this project is to take a photo each day and I have to be in the photo myself in some form.
I can appear in the photo as a shadow, a body part, a reflection etc.
Yesterday I did something that I have never done. My family went on a photo-walk around our property.
My daughter purchased a Canon 60D for Christmas and she came down for the weekend.
We decided we would take a photo-walk around our 6 acre property and practice with our new cameras.
We are both in the beginning of learning stage for still photography and understanding our new DSLR cameras.
We had a blast. We both took a lot of great photographs, in our opinion of course.
It’s fun when 2 people look at the same thing but find a way to photograph it differently.
Some of our photographs were good enough that we plan to frame some and put them in the house.
I took the opportunity to try and place myself in one of my photographs for my project.
One of the things I want to try and accomplish is to make photographs that are real and relate to my everyday life.
I’m watching a lot of other photographers that are participating in this 365 project.
Some of the others I’m really drawn to and others I am not remotely interested.
I find myself watching those the most who are making photos that seem to chronicle their surroundings and their lifestyle.
Others who are being artsy-fartsy, I’m not caring about those at all.
I see a lot of photographers trying to create shots that in no way relate to their everyday life and I’m not into that style of photography right now.
I just want to keep it real and realistic.
I captured the photo below on our family photo-walk.
Can you find me in this photo? I promise I am there, look hard.
If you find me, can you also find my eyes?

It’s not too late if you would like to participate in the 365 Project yourself. It’s free. Just sign up at Michael Andrew’s forum here.

Hi Steve –
I do believe I see you in that most recent self photo, and you bear and amazing resemblance to Sasquatch.
As one of what your call your loyal 8 readers, I thought I’d weigh in on your recent 2011 year in review post. It was excellent.
My comments:
I’m envious of your new home on 6 acres. Looks and sounds like the sort of place I’d like to live and I’m almost willing to swap my townhome on Hilton Head (especially since I don’t own it) for your 6 acres.
You mention Google+, which I keep hearing much about and I hope you’ll do a post or two about soon, to bring the 8 of us up to speed. (Or have you done a post that I missed?)
Concerning your health, sounds like you’re living well and juicing even. I’m just about to dig out my old juicer and take it up again, myself. Maybe you ought to do a post on juicing. I’d like that. They say it’s great for just about everything that ails you, including your creaky old joints.
Forget the fight with reading glasses: yeah, they look dorky…at least mine do…but without them it would be a struggle to read the computer screen, paper, etc. And forget about expensive prescription glasses; just get cheap reading glasses you can cram into your pocket. If you bust ‘em you just buy another cheap pair.
As for being a crusty old bastard, there’s worse things in life, like being a crusty old dead bastard. Something tells me you’re neither as old nor as crusty as you let on, but until we have a chance to meet I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. Take care.
Ken
Hey Ken! I may be down to around 6 readers now, who knows? But I’m always glad when you stop by.
I have never lived anywhere I have enjoyed more. My pond is very cool and I’m lucky to live here.
Google +, I just think it’s better and is more beneficial than FB. It’s where the smart people hang out. I’m hoping some of it will rub off on me. Get a Google + account and we can hang out in a private circle and talk about stuff no one can see but us.
Juicing…I’m getting into it pretty good. Just upgraded my juicer because my Jack LaLaine broke. I will do some posts and maybe some video.
I AM a crusty ol’ bastard but a lovable one.
Give G+ a try and hit me up.
