If you have installed a sitemap on your wordpress blog, there is a quick way to ping Google and alert the search engine that you have posted new content.

This may be a good idea if you have a blog and you do not publish on a regular basis. It may be a few days before the google-bots discover you have published new content. Ping Google and tell them you have an updated blog.

WordPress Troubleshooting
